Decenas de personas se unieron a protestar y exigir justicia por la muerte de George Floyd frente al ayuntamiento de Edinburg.
EDINBURG- Decenas de manifestantes se agruparon en la ciudad de Edinburg el sábado para exigir justicia por la muerte de George Floyd, un hombre afroamericano quien murió a principios de esta semana luego de que un oficial de la policía de Minneapolis, identificado como Derek Chauvin, le colocó la rodilla en su cuello por más de ocho minutos durante su detención.
Las imágenes y videos de su detención han circulado por redes sociales y medios de comunicación generando polémica.
Este viernes la Fiscalía acusó formalmente al agente Derek Chauvin, de asesinato en tercer grado y homicidio imprudente.
Los otros tres oficiales involucrados en la detención no están bajo custodia y están aún bajo investigación. El abogado del condado Hennepin, Mike Freeman, dice que anticipa que habría cargos.
